Privacy policy
What personal data LaserEngravers collects, why, how long we keep it, and how to use your privacy rights under GDPR and US state laws like the CCPA.
Effective October 18, 2026. This policy explains how LaserEngravers handles personal data. The site is operated by Infocedia ("we", "us"), which is responsible for your data.
We collect as little as we can. You can read every page on this site without giving us any personal information, and our content pages set no cookies.
What we collect and why
When you read the site
Our hosting provider automatically records technical data for every request, such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. It is used only to keep the site running and secure (for example, to block attacks) and is kept for a short period set by the hosting provider. We do not use it to identify you.
When you click a link to a store
When you click a buy button or store link, we record: which link was clicked, on which page and in which position, your device type (desktop, mobile or tablet), your country if our network provides it, and whether the click looked automated. To count repeat clicks without tracking you, we store a one-way code made from your IP address and browser that changes every day and cannot be turned back into your IP address. We do not store your IP address. These records are deleted after 25 months.
The store you go to (for example Amazon) then handles your visit under its own privacy policy, including any cookies it uses to credit us with a sale.
When you contact us
If you use the contact form we store your name, email address, topic and message, a one-way code of your IP address (to spot abuse) and your browser type. We use them only to answer you and keep a record of the conversation. Messages are deleted after 24 months.
When you make a privacy request
If you use the privacy request form we store your name, email address, where you live, the request and any details you give, plus a one-way code of your IP address. We keep the request for 24 months as a record that we answered it.
Analytics and advertising tools
We may use the tools below to understand how the site is used and to measure our own advertising. They run only if you agree in the cookie banner, which appears only when at least one is switched on:
- Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager (Google) for visit statistics;
- Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft) for anonymous usage patterns;
- Google Ads and the Meta Pixel (Meta) to measure our ads.
You can change your choice at any time with "Cookie preferences" in the footer. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a refusal of marketing tools. Details are in our cookie policy.
Legal bases (EU, EEA and UK visitors)
- Legitimate interests: running and securing the site, counting link clicks anonymously, and answering messages you send us.
- Consent: analytics and marketing tools. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Legal obligation: handling privacy requests and keeping a record of them.
Who we share data with
We do not sell personal data. We share it only with service providers that help us run the site, under contracts that limit how they use it:
- our hosting provider (servers and databases);
- our email provider (to receive form messages and reply);
- the analytics and advertising providers listed above, only after your consent.
We may disclose data if the law requires it, or to protect our rights or the safety of others. Some providers process data outside your country; where the law requires it, they rely on safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep data
| Data | Kept for |
|---|---|
| Contact messages | 24 months |
| Privacy requests | 24 months |
| Link-click records (no IP address) | 25 months |
| Cookie consent choice (in your browser) | 6 months |
| Hosting security logs | As set by the hosting provider, typically a few weeks |
Old records are deleted automatically.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you and get a copy;
- correct it if it is wrong;
- delete it;
- object to or restrict some uses, and withdraw consent at any time;
- data portability (EU/UK);
- opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and targeted advertising (California and other US states). We do not sell personal information; see Do not sell or share my personal information.
To use any of these rights, send a privacy request or email privacy@infocedia.com. We will confirm the request comes from you, answer within one month (EU/UK) or 45 days (California), and never charge you or treat you differently for asking. You may use an authorized agent; we may ask for proof of their authority.
If you are in the EU, EEA or UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Security
The site uses HTTPS everywhere, strict security headers and an admin area protected by strong passwords and rate limiting. IP addresses in our own records are stored only as one-way codes. No method is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and will tell you if a breach puts it at risk, as the law requires.
Children
This site is meant for adults choosing laser equipment. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. Significant changes will be highlighted on the site.
